I’m learning more and more that web design really is a journey. It is about reiterations.
This week, after I’ve been working on several web designs, I really started liking my site less and less. I hate it when you design something for someone else and really want to keep it for yourself. (or maybe that’s the mark of a good designer? wanting to stick your name on your work?)
All that’s to say: more changes.
I want people to know immediately when they come to my site that I am a graphic designer and a programmer. I don’t think that was clearly communicated before.

I just spent some money buying business cards. I didn’t want those to go to waste. the good thing is that provided some healthy limitations. I didn’t redesign my entire site, just the header and the footer. I kept the same typography and color palette.
I talked about color coding my categories, but I can’t expect you to remember what color stands for what. I wanted each section to be obvious. Hopefully the redesign of the homepage will help.
One of my friends sent me a message and told me she was having trouble finding the comment link. It was obvious to me because I designed the site! So, I added links to the bottom of all my posts for comments and permalinks.
Meant to tell you. Thomas and I both subscribe to your blog via Google Reader and it imports every post twice. Only does it with your blog for both of us. Any clue why that is?
PS… it was second nature to scroll down here and find the place to share my thoughts! I didn’t even realize until I finished reading the post you had changed it. You’re so good and making things happen.
@Trinity—Thanks so much for your feedback! I wish more people would share their user experience so that I could make my site better.
By the way, I LOVE getting your comments!
